As we were eating breakfast this morning, Brian drew my attention to an article in today’s Houston Chronicle, “White buffalo calf is the ‘hope of all nations.’”
In the article I read that the calf was born on May 12, 2011, during a thunderstorm about 50 miles northeast of Dallas, Texas, on the Lakota Ranch owned by Arby Little Soldier. With its dark nose and eyes and marking at the tip of its tail, this calf is not an albino. The Lakota Sioux Indians believe this white buffalo calf with those particular dark markings is sacred.
They say that a white buffalo is a sign that we’ll endure hard times unless everyone lives in harmony with each other and Mother Nature.
According to Samuel Joseph Lone Wolf, a Native American elder, “It’s the beginning of a new age, new times. The birth of the white buffalo calf, it tells us we need to get right, not just with Mother Nature but with all nations and with the Creator, which is God.”
And I say, Yes! Let’s have more Peace, Love and Happiness!
What are your thoughts about the birth of the white buffalo calf?
Will it motivate you to make some changes in your life?
What prejudices will you get rid of?
How will you respect the rights of gays and lesbians?
If they get married, how does it harm your life?
Is it good to be judgmental of the beliefs of others?
Shouldn’t we all have the same rights?
What will you do to receive peace, love and happiness?
I have some suggestions for you in the lyrics of my song, ‘Let’s Create Peace’–
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Now get rid of all your hatred.
Sow seeds of love everywhere.
Smile at everyone you see
and you will find peace here and there.
Let’s create peace in our world.
Let’s begin today!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Why not start right now with a smile?
Go look in a mirror and feel the joy of your own smile. It’s beautiful, isn’t it?
I can’t think of a better way, when you’re alone, to receive instant peace, love and happiness.
Can you?
Till next time…
Wishing you peace, love and happiness,
Joyce Marie

Hi Sofie! Thanks for your insights. Glad you like my lyrics!
Joyce,
I thought the same what you say. Love, peace, happiness. But it can easily become lethargy. You have to draw the line somewhere. But good lyrics, though 🙂

Yes, your own smile is amazing, isn’t it, Archana? Thank you for your comment.

Hi, Steve, You have honored me with your comments. It means so much to me to know that reading my blog has inspired you and changed your life. Thank you!
I just can’t stop reading your blog Joyce. Not only that it inspires me but also it’s changing my life. Yes, we only have one life and we should not waste it. Holding grudges towards someone and hating them are keeping us from living a peaceful life. We should forgive, forget and move on! 🙂
Hi Adnan, I respect your opinion. I’m sure it’s formed from your experiences and environment. How much peace and harmony does that opinion create in your life? Here are some of my lyrics for you to ponder: ~ Peace for you, peace for me, peace for all who long to be free….free to love, free to be…living a life of harmony, a life of peace, love and peace ~
Joyce thanks for this post. But my opinion for your questions about gay and lesbian is i don’t support their activities. It’s against nature. If we supporting them it means we are encouraging others who wants to be like them. If this continues, think for just one moment, there will be a majority of them. And , its don’t look so good. I am sure, they need psychiatrist so that they can do counseling with them and advice them for involve in social welfare rather than increasing the percentage of Gay and Lesbian.I may not be right but this is my opinion.
Thank you, Susan!
Joyce,
I agree completely that nobody should judge another person and gays/lesbians are beautiful and awesome people. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Hi Jane, I like what you wrote. Thanks for sharing.
Joyce, you have raised some relevant questions. Some people have the habit of poking their nose in issues which are not at all concerned with them. It is rightly said that when you point a finger at others, three fingers are towards you, so it is necessary that you must look before you leap. Also, it is not good to jump into conclusions when one knows nothing about the thing happening as it is said, you cannot judge a book by its cover.
Thanks for your comment, Jenny!
This is a great story and although this is the first I had heard of the white buffalo calf. This is a good example of how things of all sizes can be inspirational to so many.
This is the right blog for anyone who wants to find out about this topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I actually would want to…HaHa). You definitely put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just great!
Hi! I’m at work browsing your blog from my new iphone 3gs! Just wanted to say I love reading your blog and look forward to all your posts! Carry on the excellent work!
I’m glad you found it impressing, John. Thanks for commenting.
Thanks so much, Natalie!
What can I say else than it’s a very impressing story.
This is a very bold article Joyce! I really admire you for writing this. What a beautiful story. I think it is time we all lived in harmony as well and realize we are all created equally and should all be treated as such:) Beautiful story.
Hi David, thank you for your compliments and for sharing your experiences in India.
Thanks ukeyintx, I agree with you.
Hi Joyce, excellent article. And yes, I have to agree to Mr. Lippy for a wonderful comment. Truly it’s a soul enriching article. I want to share some of my experience with you guys as when I travelled to India for a business tour, I realized that they treat cow as their god and mother. They feel the cow is the most sacred animal in the hindu community. Also they pray to mouse, lion, etc. as they believe that these were the animals on which God travelled. Cow is somehow related to Lord Krishna. I think I have to make a second visit to get the details.
Hi Joyce,
Another great lesson and good example. I believe
one will never find peace within themselves if they are
continually looking for faults and criticizing their brother or sister
Ukeyintx
There is a prophecy that speaks of the return of White Buffalo Calf Woman. Many of us, especially the traditionalists of Native American descent, have hoped and waited with anticipation for the return of White Buffalo Calf Woman.
Thanks, Bob! I appreciate your contribution that adds to message of my article. And I agree that first you should be at peace with yourself.
Hey Joyce,
Another brilliant soul enriching article. I believe we have only one life to live and when there is so much to do why waste time and energy hating people? Being only humans, off and on we’ll have differences but its better to forgive and forget. If we really want to see peace prevail in this world it should start from us, from me and from you 🙂 I should be at peace with myself first then only will I be able to contribute.
